Gun sails rigs for season 2009 |

Our rigs are powered by Gun
Sails brand. The board range in Imperial Watersports and
Windsurfing club is from 3.7 till 8.1 size. All the mast are

Goodbye Hammer, welcome Steel, the new radical wave sail in
the Gun Sails collection.
The Steel supports the pure waveriding style: easy to
handle, stable, absorbs the gusts and fast reacting.
The new shape of the Steel concentrates more on the middle
and lower area and the batten configuration was also
re-designed. The New Steel is a little deeper than the
Hammer and the centre of effort is positioned slightly
nearer the mast, which makes the sail more neutral,
eliminates any back hand pressure and extends the range of
use in high winds.
A new panel layout with a robust Dacron luff panel offers a
perfect on/off feel.
With the wider clew trim range, you can get a deeper profile
and thus get more performance in onshore conditions or on
low wind days.
A new feature is also the two clew eyelet concept which give
you scope for an individual tuning: opt for a more direct or
rather soft feeling.
Due to the fact that the construction and equipment of a
radical wave sail are important purchase criteria, we have
attached great importance to these points.
All sail windows are constructed in reinforced x-ply
materials. Potential weak spots are protected by seam
coverings or rubber tubes. Solid applications improve the
frame. A “lightweight construction” is definitely not our
style.
Key facts:
100% x-ply construction for maximum demands
Faster power on/off for radical wave rides
A repositioned centre of effort avoids back hand pressure
Better gusts absorption thanks to Dacron mast panels and
less pre-tension

TRANSWAVE

Power Wave, this means more drive and power than a radical
wave sail whereas it offers maximum control in all
conditions.
Our sail designer Renato Morlotti focused on lightness and
user-friendliness.
This can be found in a new mast sleeve cut with less bending
and new materials, which significantly ease rigging and
trimming.
The new Transwave aspect ratio has been re-worked making the
sail reaction very fast and giving it an extra turbo power
supply for all drives and turns in the waves.
The previous rigid luff panel has been replaced with a
dacron panel. This results in reduced panel tension,
compared to its forerunner model, the Wave MC, which
improves substantially the comfort, cushioning and power
on/off.
Two clew eyelets give you a wide range of individual tuning:
Opt for a rather direct (upper eyelet) or soft (lower
eyelet) feeling.
Of course our new wave sail is equally at home with RDM and
SDM masts.
An extreme durability and longevity are guaranteed by the
70% x-ply and complex reinforcements. Renato Morlotti calls
it "a pure power wave machine for all wave spots in the
world”.
Key facts:
Constant power development for very good planing performance
A more open sail top for more stability and control in high
wind conditions
70% x-ply construction for extreme conditions
Better gusts absorption thanks to Dacron mast panels and
less pre-tension

TORRO
|
|
|
 |
As a Freemove sail, the Torro is the perfect combination of
wave, freestyle and freeride characteristics.
The conclusion of the German Surf magazine in their test report
about the Torro 2008 summed it up:
“The Gun Sails Torro is directly in the middle of all these
characteristics, therefore, it fits perfectly into the Freemove
group.” (surf magazine 03/2008)
Early planing, manoeuvrability and outstanding speed resources
are the key points of this versatile sail. The reduced boom
length makes it extremely easy to handle, it feels well-balanced
and offers a significantly high comfort in a wide wind range.
The Torro is equipped with a camless narrow mast sleeve which
rotates very softly, the luff tension is reduced and can be
easily adjusted thanks to the built in trim rolls.
The size specific batten configuration of 5 battens without
tubes provide up to size 5,3 a much better handling. From size
5,7 on, the profile is supported by one tube batten for better
flat water performance.
Key facts:
Versatile sail with an extraordinary wide range of use
Optimum mixture of handling and performance
Size specific batten configuration
Best freestyle suitability in our sail range
SDM and RDM compatible

RAPID
|
|
|
 |
The brand-new Rapid is the new favourite sail of our sail
designer Renato Morlotti for enjoying the time on the water and
outrunning others after an exhausting day in the loft.
Stress free rigging thanks to the camless mast sleeve, easy
feeling and performance values as a slalom sail, these are the
key characteristics of the Rapid.
Renato says: “The Rapid shows a more than sporty character.
Despite the slalom design it feels like a freeride sail and
turns every weekend sailor into the fastest racer on the water”.
It was designed as a no cam performance sail and it combines the
performance of the Cannonball with the handling of the Future.
7 battens and a higher profile tension provide the sail with
incredible acceleration abilities and a superior speed for a no
cam sail.
The Rapid is ideal for fast freeride or slalom boards and give a
relaxing feel during all manoeuvres.
Key facts:
Camless high performance sail with freeride handling
characteristics
7/4 Cross batten concept for maximum profile stability
Very wide range of use from low to high winds with one trim only
RBL: Reduced Boom Length for more control and easy handling
Solid x-ply frame ensures longevity
